With a week to spare before the start of the season, Buffalo joined most of the rest of the country in naming a starting quarterback for next week against Robert Morris.
Insert: Matt Myers.
Myers beat out Kyle Vantrease and Dominic Johnson for the job. Myers is a local guy (West Seneca West HS) who redshirted last year and still has four years to give. He’s not as big as Tyree Jackson, but he’s still 6-4, 220 lbs.
Out of high school, Myers was a 2-star prospect with a lot of room to fill. He was listed as a pro-style QB on 247sports, but that doesn’t make any sense because he had 2,000+ passing and 1,000+ rushing yards in his senior season.
