This season, there will be nine guys in the MAC wearing No. 91. Of the nine, six have freshman status, one is a junior college transfer and the other two have limited playing experience with their respective schools.
Let’s get familiarized:
Matt Hanson — Akron
Hanson’s coming off of his redshirt year at Akron after moving from Fort Lauderdale, Fla. (Western). Hanson’s a defensive end that had a two-star rating by 247sports composite (0.7530).
Akeem Hutchinson — Ball State
Hutchinson is a defensive end in his junior season with Ball State. He’s had some playing time, but only appeared in four games in each of the last two seasons.
Eddie Wilson — Buffalo
Wilson signed with Buffalo this past year as a defensive tackle, listed at 6-foot-4, 285 pounds. Wilson is from Jersey City, N.J. (Milford Academy) who had a three-star rating by 247sports composite (0.8064) that enrolled early.
Neiman Novitski — Kent State
Novitski is a freshman, walk-on defensive lineman for Kent State from Gibsonia, Pa. — just north of Pittsburgh. He’s listed at 6-foot-2, 215 pounds.
Andrew Sharp — Miami-OH
Sharp enters the season as a redshirt-freshman at Miami. Sharp’s a Michigander who went to Grosse Point South. There, he earned a two-star rating with a composite score of 0.7824. Sharp’s listed at 6-foot-4, 240 pounds.
Connor Schneider — Northern Illinois
Schneider’s a redshirt-freshman defensive end, listed at 6-foot-2, 218 pounds. From Granger, Ind. (Penn), Schneider was a two-star recruit by 247sports composite (0.7642).
Cole Baker — Ohio
Baker’s a new addition to the Bobcat defense as he transfers over from East Mississippi Community College. There, he was a national champion, recorded 42 tackles, four sacks and nine tackles for loss. The defensive tackle’s listed at 6-foot-3, 275 pounds.
Jamal Hines — Toledo
Hines was a part of Toledo’s 2018 signing class. Hines is listed as a 6-foot-2, 216 pound defensive end out of Cincinnati, Ohio (Princeton) and had a three-star rating with a composite score of 0.8315.
Ken Finley — Western Michigan
Finley is a senior defensive tackle for WMU. In 2015, Finley played in 10 games as a freshman and recorded seven tackles. He appeared in five over the last two years with four total tackles. Out of high school (Muskegon, Mich.; Muskegon), Finley was rated a three-star recruit by 247sports composite (0.8087).
