Just before their respective spring games were played, both Miami-OH and Central Michigan added to their 2019 signing classes with one and two more offensive commitments, respectively.
Miami’s offense is almost set
Jonquavous Brown (Grovetown, Ga.; Grovetown) announced his commitment with Miami today, becoming the 14th to do so.

Brown is an average-sized running back (5-foot-10, 180 pounds listed) with a good downhill-running approach to his game. The only other school to offer him was Southern Illinois.
Looking at the list of commits made to Miami, it looks like the program will be able to focus a lot more on the defensive side of the ball during the summer. Of Miami’s 14 commits, 11 are offensive players — two quarterbacks, five linemen, three receivers and Brown is the first running back added to this class. There’s still room to add a handful more on this side of the ball, but the haul of players Miami has gotten in the first few months of the cycle have made things easier with summer camps right around the corner.

Central receives in-state commitments
David Ellis (Clinton Township, Mich.; Chippewa Valley) is a big get for the CMU offense. By 247sports.com composite scores, Ellis is the No. 28 player in the state (0.8399) with a three-star rating.
CMU was the first to offer Ellis and has also received offers from Western Michigan, Ball State, Toledo, Bowling Green, Indiana and Buffalo. All seven of his offers came within 12 days back in mid-January.

Ellis is a physical dude with his tape showing him playing both sides of the ball as a receiver and as a safety. As a receiver, he’s already got a good frame on him at 6-foot, just short of 200 pounds. Speed is a plus for him, but what makes Ellis a good receiver is his ability to show his ability to shed off tacklers, or at least needing a second guy to bring him down. Whether or not that translates nicely at the next level remains to be seen, but his playing style should help him see the field at CMU, even if it means he’s starting out on special teams. If he wasn’t already, Dequan Finn (Detroit, Mich.; Martin Luther King) should be on your radar for years to come. Finn’s a dual-threat quarterback that already has good size on him (6-foot-1, 190 pounds listed) and runs the ball really well, so one can see how he easily fits into CMU’s offense. The other thing that stands out in his tape is the strong delivery he has on his throws. That’s how he’s able to put intermediate throws on a line.

Personally, I would’ve expected a player with his talent to have more FBS offers than what he got: Arkansas State, CMU, Air Force and Bowling Green. By 247sports.com composite scoring, Finn is a high two-star guy with a score of 0.7799.
The Chippewas are now up to five total commits with all but one coming from Michigan kids.

|Danny Motowski||C/OG||Warren, Mich||De La Salles||0.7999||Michigan|
