To kick off the early signing period, Ohio added 19 signees to its roster.
According to 247sports.com, Ohio’s recruiting class ranks No. 7 in the Mid-American Conference, but this class has plenty of talent to go around, so don’t read too much into that figure.
Ohio, like clockwork, really made it a point to improve everywhere on defense and at offensive line.
Atop of the class is safety Jamison Collier, who stands at 6-foot-3 and weights 190 pounds. Other defensive backs in this class are cornerbacks Justin Birchettte and John Gregory. Ohio took the JUCO route with defensive linemen Zach Burks (Coffeyville CC) and Cole Baker (East Mississippi CC). Antrez Baker is another DL added to this unit.
Up front, Ohio got huge additions in Bryce Ramer, Kylen McCracken, Kurt Danneker and Patrick Gilliland. Alec Burton was a huge tight end for head coach Frank Solich to get in this class, along with Bryce Stai.
The Bobcats had to reach out to Erie, Pa. to find their quarterback in Joe Mischler, who is a dual-threat option.
Overall, this is a very typical-looking class for Ohio. A lot of beef, a lot of athleticism (especially at defense), with a few special talents in the skilled positions.
